Welcome to St Augustine’s Primary School Rivervale. Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. We are a single stream school from Kindy to Year Six situated in the suburb of Rivervale, approximately six kilometres from the Perth CBD.
St Augustine’s School was started in 1952 by the Sisters of Mercy prior to the Presentation Sisters taking over administration of the school four years later. Both charisms are embedded in the school and give it the vibrant community culture that it is renowned for, along with a strong sense of pastoral care underpinned by the Gospel values. Our school has a strong connection with the St Augustine’s Parish.
At St Augustine’s we strive to build an exciting and dynamic curriculum and learning experiences which aim to educate the whole person while giving our students opportunities that enable them to flourish in all aspects of their lives. We are committed to giving your child the very best we can offer.
The staff at St Augustine’s are enthusiastic, highly dedicated and committed to nurturing the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, physical and social needs of our students. We aim for all our students to feel secure and happy and to experience success. Our foundation for learning is built on the children belonging, feeling valued and respected. All children are nurtured to become active, faith filled and responsible people.
Students are given many diverse learning opportunities and experiences through the specialist classes of Physical Education, Art, Music and Italian. They are also provided with cross-curricular activities through regular incursions, excursions, sporting opportunities, Year Five and Year Six Camp and Student Leadership programs. Students with learning needs are well supported through the HOTSkills and Sound Write programs.
As stewards of our environment, we pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainable practices. St Augustine’s is a Your Move school and our students are encouraged to find active, healthy ways to get to school.
Technology plays a significant part in the life of our school. This ensures that learning at St Augustine’s is purposeful, current and exciting. We aim to provide the students with the skills and knowledge to face future learning. When you have a moment, take the time to listen to the St Augustine’s Podcast. Run by our students, this podcast will give you an idea of how much happens at our school.
Our committed staff are supported by a vibrant and active school community which is involved in many aspects of school life. Strong parent-teacher partnerships are nurtured, and we support the important role that parents have to play in developing their child’s potential for learning. This partnership is founded on a spirit of mutual respect, cooperation, communication and collaboration. Families are always welcomed into the school and their contribution to school life is highly valued.
As a school community, we are very proud of our school and the quality of learning that occurs here. In exploring this site, I hope that you gain a sense of this, and I encourage you to contact the school for further information or to make a time to meet with me, so that I can show you around. At St Augustine’s, we pride ourselves on “Reaching For Great Heights!”
